BURLINGTON, Vermont, November 7, 2024 – With five months to go before kick-off, the annual
Canadian Dairy XPO (CDX), Canada's largest dairy trade show, is already 90
percent sold out, a record so many months ahead of the show. Acquired by the
DLG (German Agricultural Society) in July this year, the trade show takes place
in Stratford, Ontario and recorded more than 17,000 attendees at the last
event, more than ever before.
“The
record number of exhibitor registrations with five months to go till CDX
showcases not only the strength in the Canadian Dairy Sector but also reflects
that CDX is a valuable tradeshow offering exactly what Canadian dairy producers
are looking for,” says Jordan Underhill, president of CDX. Since its
establishment in 2014, CDX has developed into the largest gathering of dairy
producers in Canada, attracting more than 300 exhibitors from 35 countries.
Earlier
this year, the DLG acquired Underhill Enterprise Inc with its CDX trade show.
The trade show will benefit from the agricultural expert knowledge from
the DLG, a non-profit organization offering practical agricultural knowledge
and some 30 international agricultural exhibitions from all over the
world. Since July 2024, CDX has been organized by DLG North America, a
subsidiary based in Canada and set up to manage all of DLG’s activities on the
North American continent.
A key DLG objective is to further practical farming knowledge around the
world. DLG supports the multilateral exchange between large-scale Canadian and
international dairy farmers that is expected to take place at this event where
40 percent of the attending producers from Canada hold more than CDN$10 million
in operational equity. CDX 2025 will feature “Genetics In Motion” a
tradition at CDX, presenting live dairy daughters from top industry Artificial
Insemination (AI) sires. Visitors will be able to inspect them close-up in a
natural free stall setup. Top Canadian genetics companies will be
participating.
The event
“the Canadian Dairy Business Summit” launched at the last CDX will take place
again the day before CDX and will feature international speakers who will offer
progressive dairy producers applicable farm management know-how. DLG North
America plans to bring over a European practical farmer who will present
experience from large German dairy farms. Featured for the third year running,
a German pavilion organized by the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture
(BMEL) and supported by the DLG will include German companies with tailored
solutions for Canada. The pavilion has proved a highlight among Canadian and
American dairy farmers.
Uniting
dairy producers and industry professionals, CDX hosts “Calves for a Cause” a
charity calf sale that raises fund for the London, ON children’s hospital in
2024 the sale raised a staggering $30,000 for this noble cause. At the last
event held in April 2024, 75 percent of the attendees were under the age of 35,
reflecting CDX’s appeal to the upcoming generation of dairy producers, who are
looking for technical solutions. Some 40 percent of attending producers hold
more than 10 million in operational equity, which further underlines the
overall importance of the dairy sector to Canadian agriculture. CDX was
Incepted in 2014 and located in the heart of Canadian dairy country, the
Canadian Dairy XPO is Canada’s largest dairy showcase. With exhibiting
companies from around the globe bringing the latest in innovation, education,
genetics and hospitality to Canadian and international dairy producers and
their families.
