eMobility Expo will host the H2 - Hydrogen World
Congress next February in Valencia.
Spain, a world leader in hydrogen projects, will host the H2 - Hydrogen World Congress, where more than 180 international experts will discuss the role of hydrogen as an alternative energy, especially in the industrial and mobility sectors
Madrid, December 5th, 2023.- Spain
isleading green hydrogen projects worldwide. It is estimated that by 2050, the
industrial and transport sectors will account for 42% and 36% of global clean
hydrogen consumption, respectively. To respond to this new reality, Valencia
will host the first edition of H2 - Hydrogen World Congress.
Coinciding with the celebration of the eMobility Expo World Congress,it
will be held at Feria de Valencia on February 14th and 15th
to analyze the benefits of green hydrogen and its application in the mobility and
industry sector. It is the largest green hydrogen congress in Europe and will
bring together experts in the field from around the world.
To lead the hydrogen debate in Europe, the H2
- Hydrogen World Congress will bring together the main initiatives developed
in the country and will include the participation of major investment projects,
where Spain is emerging as the world's leading power with more than 20,000
million euros of investment planned.
The congress will be attended by the International
Energy Agency and the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Andalusian
Hydrogen Valley of Palos de la Frontera in Huelva and San Roque in Cadiz,
representatives of Valley of Galicia with the H2 Pole project, those of Puertollano
in Castilla la Mancha, Shine Consortium with the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor and
Catalonia; the promoters of the Hydrogen Valley of Aragon; the Basque Hydrogen
Corridor and the Tarragona Hydrogen Network. HyVal, the hydrogen cluster of the
Valencian Community and the promoters of HyDeal Spain, as well as Iberdrola,
Cepsa, BP, EDP, Repsol or the Energy Technology Institute, will also be
present.
Jesús Haro,
director of the H2 - Hydrogen World Congress, emphasized the importance of
hydrogen within sustainable mobility. "Spain is betting very clearly on
the energy transformation of the country, as it is carrying out significant
investments in infrastructure such as hydrogen corridors, which we currently
have".
Along these lines, the role of green hydrogen, its potential as a clean energy carrier and its impact on achieving a carbon-neutral industry will be discussed during the
congress. The use of hydrogen is important formore
sustainable mobility, due to its ability to reduce carbon emissions, reduce
dependence on fossil fuels, increase energy efficiency and offer advantages in
terms of range and refueling time. Its versatility makes it a promising option to
address environmental and energy challenges in the industrial and mobility
sectors. "Accelerating the leap to renewable and low-carbon hydrogen will
require coordination and collaboration between industry, electricity and gas
grids, policymakers and investors", said Jesús Haro.
Charging and distribution
systems are key to the success of the energy transition to green hydrogen
Batteries and charging systems will also have their space at the H2 - Hydrogen World Congress. Dozens of exhibiting companies will showcase all kinds of solutions in charging systems, among other innovations in energy. The congress will also host the Energy & Batteries Forum, to discuss the most disruptive success stories in the energy sector, as well as the different aspects related to battery technologies, from manufacturing to second-life proposals and recycling, and will analyze the role of raw materials in the new paradigm of the supply chain.
